Spring has well and truly arrived at Benoni, with a flurry of festive foliage and beautiful blooms.
We were so happy to welcome back Cerisia to Benoni today for the Spring Equinox. She spoke about the day's significance in popular folklore, as well as the trees and the animals most representative of this time of year.
Residents made stunning spring wreaths which are now proudly hanging around the home. Cerisia has such a wonderful gentle energy and we're looking forward to seeing her again soon.

Many of our residents are fond of the outdoors and are keen gardeners. We're looking to start a gardening club soon and, in the meantime, we've been busy making bird feeders. Our front lounge has huge windows over-looking the garden and we love to watch the birds come and go. There are two robins who like to join us in the mornings and they always bring a smile to the residents' faces.
Want to make your own easy-peasy bird feeder? All you need is an old toilet roll tube, peanut butter, some bird seed, and twine (or slide your toilet roll tube over a branch).
The activities team has been working with residents on seasonal arts and crafts and the lounge is looking suitably festive.
With Easter on the way, we're looking forward to more fun and games, including an egg hunt. We're also looking forward to spending more time outside the home over the coming weeks and months.
